New Neutrals

Black, gray, navy blue, brown…these colours have firmly cemented their position as traditional neutrals especially in colder weather. Their easy maintenance and wearability have made them very popular as wardrobe staples and form the basis of many outfits. Burgundy/plum/maroon hues have emerged as favourites of mine in recent years and I have found myself inadvertently collecting various items in these shades without worrying about whether they will work well with other colours in my wardrobe.  This extremely versatile colour group works beautifully and effortlessly well with other colours – black, white, yellows and mustards being notable examples. The shade can also be worn entirely as a monotone look. Many designers seem to agree as many showcased items in this lipstick hue in their AW12/13 collections. This refreshing, sophisticated and elegant colour is here to stay and that is great news!
